Blossom Ozurumba About Blossom

A 100-day programme

100 Days
to Become

Each day brings one practical task, and each day opens only when the one before it is done, so the programme builds in order from Day 1 to Day 100. Every entry is graded from 1 to 5 when you submit it, with an explanation of the grade and, where it would help, advice on doing better the next day.

How grading works

1

You earn one point for submitting an entry, so every day you take part starts with a mark.

2

You earn two points for doing the task in full, one point for doing at least half of it and half a point for doing less than that.

1

You earn one point for a record of twelve words or more that names the people, places or numbers involved.

1

You earn one point for a next step of eight words or more that says what came of the task or what you will do next.

Half points round down, and every grade of 3 or below comes with advice on how to raise it the next time.

Your hundred days

Keeping your progress safe

Your progress is saved in the browser on this device, so it is worth downloading a copy every week or so and loading it again if you move to a different browser or device. Starting again clears everything, including your name, your title, your start date and your entries.

Behind the programme

The Blossom Ozurumba Protocol

100 Days to Become is built on the Blossom Ozurumba Protocol, which treats good fortune as something a person can prepare for through small, deliberate actions repeated day after day.

The protocol asks for one practical task a day and moves through ten stages of ten days each, with every tenth day set aside for a review, so that the work of the early stages supports everything that comes after it.

  1. Stage 1, Days 1 to 10

    Make more attempts

Nobody can tell in advance which attempt will pay off, which is why the programme opens with ten days of making far more attempts than feels comfortable.

  2. Stage 2, Days 11 to 20

    Let your work be seen

Work that nobody hears about rarely leads anywhere, and this stage asks you to make your work easier for other people to notice and find.

  3. Stage 3, Days 21 to 30

    Widen your circle

Casual acquaintances often hear about things your close friends never do, so the third stage takes you beyond the people you already see every week.

  4. Stage 4, Days 31 to 40

    Give and connect

People remember those who helped them, and the fourth stage is given over to introducing others, passing on good leads and leaving relationships on good terms.

  5. Stage 5, Days 41 to 50

    Choose your rooms

Some places, in person and online, bring you into contact with far more useful people and ideas than others, which makes the choice of where you spend your time worth a stage of its own.

  6. Stage 6, Days 51 to 60

    Protect the downside

A run of good fortune counts for little if one bad event can undo it, so the sixth stage deals with backups, savings and the risks you could not easily recover from.

  7. Stage 7, Days 61 to 70

    Keep room to move

When your diary and your budget are already full, good things have to be turned down, and the seventh stage helps you keep enough spare time, money and energy to say yes when they appear.

  8. Stage 8, Days 71 to 80

    Sharpen your eye

Good openings often pass by people who are too busy, anxious or distracted to see them, and the eighth stage trains you to notice more of what goes on around you.

  9. Stage 9, Days 81 to 90

    Use every setback

Fortunate people meet as many setbacks as anyone else and differ mainly in how they respond, so the ninth stage is about turning problems to your advantage and doing ordinary things unusually well.

  10. Stage 10, Days 91 to 100

    Keep going

Relationships, skills and effort gain value the longer you keep at them, and the final stage settles the people, skills and long projects you will carry beyond Day 100.
